Upcoming Events at York Gardens & Tearoom

Save the Date.

Our upcoming events do require a reservation. We plan our events to entertain our guests and to add to the spirit of Afternoon (High) Tea. Not all of our events are centered around our tea service. Some events are dinners and in the spring, summer and early fall we enjoy using the Gardens for tea and dinner parties as well as other special events.

International Tea Tasting - The 6 Mountains

International Tea Tasting - The 6 Mountains

International Tea Tasting.

Jimmy, owner of York Gardens Tea Room will be hosting an international tea tasting.

In this popular workshop you will sample a tea from the very famous tea mountains of Gedeng Shan. Mangzhi Shan. Mansa Shan. Manzhuan Shan. Yibang Shan and Youle Shan.

Explore the bold but subtle richness of teas from these mountains. As Jimmy guides you on your tasting journey, you will explore each tea's differences and similarities, discuss the cultures of each tea's origin and explore what is so special and unique about these mountains, their soil and climates, that they are considered the best tea mountains in the world.
This isn't grandma's Sunday afternoon porch tea. Boy, was her tea good though! No, the flavors from these mountains will have you asking, 'where have they been hiding these teas.'

This workshop includes 2 scones with preserves and York Cream, a special tasting cup, free tea samples to take home, and of course, samplings of the best tea produced in all the known world.

Space is limited to 25 participants.
Tickets are just $20.00pp.

To get your reservation and ticket you must call (757) 218-6807 or (757) 690-4186. Wednesday - Sunday from 11am to 5pm.
See you at the Tea Tasting.
